2024-2025 Travel Team Information
● Travel teams are SYB’s “all-star” teams that play in the RI Metrowest youth basketball league various tournaments in RI.
● Travel coaches emphasize individual skill development and competitive team play; therefore, while valuable practice opportunities are provided to all players, game playing time is not guaranteed for all players.
● Eligible athletes are: Girls & Boys 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams; all teams are created depending on interest
● Commitment = typically 1x/week travel team practice and 1x/week RI Metro League game. Teams will also participate in 3-4 tournament weekends from November 2024 – early March 2025
● Players must attend tryouts if they want to be selected for a travel team! Tryouts are being held on Thursday, September 26th at Scituate High School in the back gym.
Boys 3rd-5th Grade 6:30-7:30
Boys 6th-8th Grade 7:30-8:30
● Every SYB recreation player is welcome to try out for a travel team
● Team determined by the player’s grade/age as of 9/1/24
● Players must be actively participating in SYB recreation league to be eligible to try out and play for an SYB travel team
● $175 registration fee, plus cost of uniform
● Full uniforms with players’ names will be worn at all tournaments
